Caribbean Kids and Families Therapy Organisation is looking for creative, motivated, and caring therapists to help us as we develop our centre and bring change to the families of children with special needs in Trinidad and Tobago. A nation where disability awareness is becoming more common place and policies are beginning to take shape regarding equal rights for all. At Caribbean Kids and Families, your days will be far from typical.

A work week might include:

  • Case load of children ages birth to 21, with disabilities ranging from developmental delay, autism, cerebral palsy, Down's syndrome, sensory processing disorder, ADHD and other learning disorders.
  • Treatment sessions focusing on reaching developmental milestones, sensory integration, visual perceptual activities, development of social skills, working on self-care skills, pre-vocational and vocational skills as well as parent education and training.
  • Working in small special needs schools; working directly with students or in small groups, teacher/staff training, and parent training.
  • Working alongside a multi-disciplinary clinical team.
  • Facilitating our support groups for parents, siblings, grandparents or fathers of children served by CKFTO.
  • Participating in community training and outreach disability sensitization campaigns.
  • Advocacy and promotion of pediatric Occupational and Music Therapy.
  • Team meetings with other clinicians, teachers, parents, grandparents and other family members.
